This program is designed for dedicated yoga practitioners who wish to deepen their personal practice, explore traditional yoga teachings, and develop the knowledge and skills to become confident yoga teachers.It is open to both beginners with a sincere interest in yoga and experienced practitioners who wish to expand their understanding and strengthen their practice.
To qualify, your referral must be a new student who registers by December 31st. If the new student registers after this date, you will still receive the reward, which will be applied to the following year.
Kids' yoga is a form of yoga designed specifically for children. It incorporates yoga poses, breathing practices, and relaxation techniques. Kid's yoga classes are safe, with qualified instructors guiding children through age-appropriate activities to prevent injuries.
No. Previous teaching experience is not required.The program is designed to guide you step-by-step, helping you build a strong personal practice while developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to teach yoga authentically.
Kids yoga classes are designed for children ages 6 to 17. They are divided by age group (Level 1 to 3) and the class lasts 50 to 60 minutes. No prior experience is needed, and classes cater to varying levels of physical ability.
As a token of appreciation for your referral, you will receive a $50 referral bonus. Both students must maintain attendance for at least six months between August and May to qualify for this reward.

Yes. The entire 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program is conducted through live online classes.
Kids yoga offers numerous benefits, including:Improved flexibility, strength, and coordination.Enhanced concentration and focus.Stress relief and relaxation techniques.Boosted self-esteem and body awareness.Introduction to mindfulness and breathing exercises.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, preferably white UPFNA yoga clothing. Click here to order if you need one. Avoid shorts, sleeveless shirts, capris, jeans, tights, and dresses with zippers or large buttons.
We will email you a gift certificate with a coupon code at the end of April. The code can be used for your child’s Kids Yoga program or any future UPFNA program.
No, families can refer as many students as they like.
Please bring your yoga mat, UPFNA homework book, and water bottle for class.
The program features live online classes, offering real-time learning, interaction, and guidance from experienced teachers.All live sessions are recorded and available for review, so you can revisit the material whenever needed. However, we strongly encourage students to attend the live classes whenever possible, as active participation provides the most engaging and effective learning experience.
Students should plan to dedicate approximately 6–8 hours per week, including:4 hours of live online classesPersonal yoga practiceReading and self-studyAssignments and class preparationConsistent participation and regular practice throughout the program are essential for gaining the greatest benefit from the training.
To experience its full benefits, kids should practice yoga at least 4 to 5 times weekly. Consistency helps reinforce the physical and mental aspects of yoga. Ten to fifteen minutes of practice is usually sufficient.
To successfully complete the program, students must attend at least 90% of the live online classes.If additional classes are missed due to exceptional circumstances, students may be required to complete approved make-up work. This may include watching the recorded sessions, submitting a reflection or assignment to demonstrate completion, and meeting any additional requirements specified by the instructors before certification is awarded.
Morning practice is recommended for setting a positive tone, promoting mindfulness, enhancing focus, and establishing healthy habits for life. However, finding a time that fits your child's routine and energy levels is most important.
Yes, evening practice can also be beneficial for winding down after a busy day, promoting relaxation, and preparing for a restful sleep.
To receive the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate, students must:Attend at least 90% of the live online classesComplete all required reading, assignments, and self-study activitiesComplete the teaching practicumPass the final online examination
The curriculum follows the Yoga Alliance standards for a 200-hour yoga teacher training program. Graduates who successfully complete all program requirements are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).

Yes. As part of UPFNA's mission to make traditional yoga education affordable, graduates are expected to complete 25 hours of volunteer community service with the Universal Peace Foundation of North America (UPFNA) within 6–12 months of graduation.This volunteer service provides valuable teaching experience while supporting UPFNA's community wellness programs and sharing the benefits of traditional yoga with the wider community.
Parents can encourage their children's yoga practice at home by practicing simple poses together once or twice a week as a family or encouraging them to practice with their siblings or friends. You can also request them to teach whatever they learn in the class. Discuss the benefits of yoga and ask them what we should practice if we have back pain, headaches, etc.; kids would love to teach. Offer positive reinforcement, celebrate their progress, and show interest in their yoga journey.
The program is taught by experienced yoga teachers from Universal Peace Foundation (UPF) India and Universal Peace Foundation of North America (UPFNA), with expertise in traditional yoga practice and teacher training.
Understand their busy schedules and interests, and try to integrate yoga into their routine naturally and enjoyably. Offering classes tailored to their age group or interests helps maintain their engagement. Set small, achievable goals and celebrate progress to create a sense of accomplishment. Use technology, such as apps and online videos, to make practice more engaging and accessible.
Yes, we provide 15-minute practice videos and homework sheets every week. Students can either practice with the video(recommended) or follow the practice sheet. When students come to class, parents should sign their homework sheets for the next class. This can help the kids practice regularly. We will conduct a written or oral test during the first week of December and May. The homework and test grades will be scored and awarded to motivate them.

Yes. Need-based scholarships are available on a case-by-case basis. Teacher Training Scholarship ApplicationApplicants seeking financial assistance must complete the Financial Teacher Training Scholarship Application. A limited number of partial scholarships from the UPFNA Scholarship Fund are available for qualified applicants.
Prerequisite: Children must have attended yoga classes for a minimum of three years to volunteer to teach, and they need to be in 8th grade or higherStep 1: Initially, they will support the teacher by demonstrating yoga poses, correcting postures, posting homework on the WhatsApp group, and testing homework sheets in the classroom for at least one year. Step 2: They will begin by teaching a 20-minute online practice session class.Step 3: Later on, they will progress to teaching kids yoga level in in-person classesOther opportunities: Assisting in preparing class materials, creating brochures and flyers, setting up the pre-setup for UPFNA events, setting up booths at the school, and establishing a yoga blog for kids. Every minute contributes to their volunteer hours. Once the maximum hours are achieved, UPFNA will present the distinguished Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to the volunteer.
