FAQ

Course Overview

1. What is the course structure?

The course consists of:

  • Four stages of concentration: Mooladhara, Forehead Eye, Crown Chakra, and Backbrain Meditation

  • Purification of the subconscious mind

  • Self-analysis and inner reflection

2. As a first-time participant, what can I expect from the course?

The course encourages deep self-discovery, leading to meaningful transformation and positive shifts in mindset and values. It supports personal growth and a deeper understanding of yourself.

3. How can this course benefit my daily life and personal transformation?

  • This three-day retreat offers a focused opportunity to deepen your meditation practice in the presence of a Guru.

  • By stepping away from daily responsibilities, you can access powerful inner energies and deeper insights.

  • These experiences gradually unfold in everyday life, enhancing clarity, strengthening resilience, and supporting lasting personal transformation.

4. Is it a serious course, or will there also be enjoyable activities?

It is “serious fun,” with both calm meditative sessions and dynamic activities, creating a balanced and enriching experience. Some aspects are best understood through personal experience.

Preparation

5. How do I prepare myself for the course?

  • If you are already practicing Kundalini meditation daily, please continue your regular practice. If not, begin as soon as you register for the program. Practice meditation once or twice a day for about 20 minutes, focusing on the Forehead and Crown Chakra.

  • Ensure you get adequate rest and take time to focus on yourself.

  • Additionally, follow a vegetarian diet for at least one week prior to the course.

6. Should I bring anything specific for the workshop?

  • Yoga mats will be provided; however, you may bring your own mat if you prefer. We also recommend bringing a cushion or backrest for comfortable seating during the sessions.

  • Please bring your own water bottle and dress in layers, as the room temperature may vary throughout the day.

  • Blank papers, pens, and the course booklet will be provided

  • .Since this is a three-day retreat, you may leave your mat and cushion at the venue until the final evening before returning home. Kindly avoid leaving any valuable belongings, as we are not responsible for lost or misplaced items.

Guidelines

7. What challenges might I experience during the course?

  • You may need to adjust to waking up early and arriving at the venue on time to align with the schedule.

  • Sitting for extended periods can also be challenging.

  • However, regular breaks and opportunities for yogic relaxation will be provided during the sessions. Chairs will be available for your convenience, and you may choose a comfortable sitting position on your mat.

8. Should silence be observed during the course, or can participants speak with one another?

  • Most prana (vital life energy) is expended through speech. Observing silence helps preserve prana and supports deeper practice. However, silence is not mandatory.

  • Meaningful discussions and attentive listening can also enhance meditation and understanding.

  • Participants are encouraged to observe periods of silence from time to time.

  • At the same time, group interaction is welcomed, as it encourages the exchange of ideas, collaboration, and social connection—an important part of the course experience.

9. In what language is the course conducted?

  • The concept sessions (Satsang) are delivered primarily in English by Gurumahan. If any topic requires further clarification, trained instructors will explain it in simple, easy-to-understand English.

  • During the practices, language becomes secondary, as the experience is primarily based on direct personal experience rather than words.

  • The evening breathing sessions, and occasionally some morning sessions, may be conducted by the trained instructors.

Eligibility

10. Can everyone participate in this course? What are the qualifications?

Participation is limited. To enroll, you must have completed Kundalini Energy Yoga Level 2 (Crown Chakra Meditation) either through UPFNA or within the UPF lineage.

Yoga teachers will receive 25 credit hours, as this is an intensive course.

12. I am already a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher from another institute. Can I attend?

No. UPF’s system of initiation differs from other schools. Formal initiation through a UPF-certified Wisdom Teacher, which establishes an energy bond with the Guru, is required to participate in this course.

13. Why is the course conducted only by Gurumahan and not by other trainers?

The depth and dimension of this practice require the guidance of a realized Master. Such experiential transmission is possible only through a Guru.
