Global Peace Day Essay Contest
From living with animals in the forests to forming and living
in a society, mankind has evolved immensely in various aspects.
In spite of all this progress we are not able to iron out the
differences in opinions. We have failed to realize that for
mankind as a species, kindness is more important than
cleverness. The last century has witnessed two great wars being
fought (the first and second world wars) with an estimate of
about 90 million lives lost in these two wars alone and a total
of about 102 million lives lost in various wars in the 20th
century.
As mankind realized the mistake of wars, the United Nations was
formed in 1945. Though one of the objectives of United Nations
has been to keep peace throughout the world and to develop
friendly relations among nations; world peace or relationship
between many countries is seriously in question putting the
lives of thousands in danger.
“When we change, the World will change.” said Mahatma Gandhi.

world and in Omaha on 11/11/11 to remind the world of the every
